Yavuz Gülerce Race
Yavuz Gülerce, who participated in the horse races organized by the Jockey Club of Turkey in 1992, achieved to have many thoroughbred race horses
in such races within a very short period of time. Yavuz Gülerce achieved great successes with Yavuzhan, Bamka 3, Caş, Yelhan, Bilgin, Magrip,
Demirkazık, Koşanefe which are arabian horses and with Bizim Ayancıklı, Mystery Storm, Gülerceler’s Star, Tamada, Postdulivian, Heart to Heart which
are english horses. Yavuz Gülerce is commemorated by the Jockey Club of Turkey with an Arabian foal race organized every year. We wish success to all
thoroughbred race horses which participate in this race.
2014 RACE
2013 RACE
Nevzat Yardımcı‘s filly VELI CAN KIZI (Gobakbey – Fedlacan / Kanatlı.3) , won the Yavuz Gülerce Race (KV-8/DHÖ) organized in Istanbul Veliefendi Hippodrome on Friday October 11th, with the jockey Halis Karataş.
2012 RACE
Ethem Kaya’s horse DEVKAYA (k.e. Canavar - Define / ÇELEBİ.1) won the Yavuz Gülerce Race, in which three-year-old arabian horses participated. The purebred came first for the second time in five months with jockey Ömer Kaya.
2011 RACE
SİYAHBULUT (Caş - Tigress Lass) owned by Sevilay Taniyit won the Yavuz Gülerce Race, organized in İstanbul Veliefendi Hippodrome on Friday 7 October 2011. The purebred horse ran in 1.46.78 with jockey Sinan Özen in 1600 meters turf racecourse. In the race which ten three-year-old Arabian horses participated, KASTAL took the second place, BATUKAN took the third place and YARIŞALAN took the fourth place. The championship award was 56.000 TL and the differences were 1,5 heights – neck – neck.
2010 RACE
Şaban Gül’s purebred horse ÇALIŞKAN (k.e. Caş - Tanyüz) won the Yavuz Gülerce Race with jockey Sadettin Boyraz in 1.51.68, in which three-yearold purebred horses has participated. In the 1600 meters turf racecourse (KV – 8 / S / DHÖ) organized in İstanbul Veliefendi Hippodrome on Friday 8 October, FEHİMOĞLU took the second place with jockey Özcan Yıldırım, CİHANSER took the third place with Ahmet Çelik and AYDEMİR was the fourth to finish the race with jockey Yalçın Akağaç. (distances; far – 1 height – 2 heights)
2009 RACE
The Yavuz Gülerce Race, in which three-year-old Arabian horses has participated, ZEPKA (k.d. Kaizbert - Arukan) owned by Süleyman Altunbaş won with the jockey Gökhan Kocakaya (1.19.65). In the 1200 meters turf racecourse (KV – 7 / DHÖW) organized in İstanbul Veliefendi Hippodrome on Wednesday 21th of October 2009, MERTKAL took the second place, SARRAF and BABA BÜYÜ took the third and the fourth place. (distances; neck – head – 3 heights)
2008 RACE
SUZIRA (a.d. Kobra–Suzi), a thoroughbred race horse of Selman Erdemirci, with the jockey Gökhan Kocakaya in 1.19.37, won the Yavuz Gülerce Race, organized in Istanbul Veliefendi Hippodrome on Sunday 12th of October 2008. In the horse race, in which three-year-old purebred Arabian race horses participated, (KV – 7 / DHOW) YALCINER took the second place, SADRAZAM the third place, and TAYBARS the fourth place (distances; nose – 1/2 height – 1/2 height) Nurbiye Gülerce, spouse of the deceased Yavuz Gülerce, gave the cup to Selman Erdemirci, owner of the horse, which has won the race.
2007 RACE
AYABAKAN (a.e. Özgün – Zafire 15), owned by Şihis Şimşek, with the jockey Halis Karataş won the Yavuz Gülerce Race in 1.18.19, organized in Istanbul Veliefendi Hippodrome, on Wednesday 01 st of August 2007. BERKSOY (KV - 7 / DHÖW) took the second place in the turf course race in which three-year-old purebred Arabian horses participated, and BERKAY EFE and BOLAÇİN took the third and fourth place successively (distances; far – 3,5 heights – 3 heights). Nurbiye Gülerce, spouse of the deceased Yavuz Gülerce, gave the cup to the owner of the horse, which has won the race. Chairman Yasin Kadri Ekinci and Esra Atman Özyiğit board member of the Jockey Club of Turkey, and members of the Gülerce Family participated in the cup ceremony. The late Yavuz Gülerce, a horse owner and horse breeder, started horse breeding in 1992. On this race, we remembered Yavuz Gülerce with respect, who raised champion horses such as YAVUZHAN and CAŞ as stable mates of Gülerce Stud Farm, and won many classic horse races.
